Overall I'd agree with the score by the reviewer. Big picture plot not as good as in ME1 (I rate driving down that indoor corridor as the end plot is revealed to you in ME1 as the top gaming sequence in my 30 years of gaming), but story lines for NPCs are better. Over a dozen non-fatal bugs remain blocking certain side quests requiring you to reboot & retry to complete the quest. Planetary mining is worse than driving the Mako, and you'll do more of it. But combat is better in ME2 and the overall game is larger.

Bottom line: ME1 was the IMO the best video game of all time and if ME2 was half as good as ME1, it'd be the second best video game of all time. It passed that hurdle.

I "fraked" that Asari chick in the first one, I played as a chick though. It kinda freaked me out more than anything.

Bf bc2 is much better even with all the glitches. Does me2 even do dx11?

BF BC2 and ME2 are two completely different genres.

Do you actually like playing games, or just like having a PC that can render them?

Hahaha, I have always wondered the same thing. Every fucking reply mentions his computer. His DX11 graphics capabilities. This game is better on my PC... Blah blah blah. Nobody gives a shit about your "ELITE" computer. Play the fucking games and quit trying to show off. I would bet any amount of money regardless what "DX effects" this game renders that it is 10x the game that BF BC2 will be. Sorry, I played 10 minutes of the BFBC2 demo and quit.

DX12 is for losers, he's already moved on to DX13. I wish there was a "Hide ignorant fanboy rants" button.

But if you had DX11 then you would have played the "real" game and bathed in the glory of the grahpics! And then you would be enlightened like Solder36.

In fact I think he's already got DX12 hardware, pretty sure he mentioned that at some point.

I bought ME2 and have only put about 3 hours into it so far, but am thoroughly enjoying it.
I'm just curious, I never played ME1 and I know the story builds upon the other. I believe ME2's plot can stand alone, but do you guys think I should buy and play through ME1 first, or just keep enjoying the game I've already started and play it through with the scenario and history ME2 gives you. I'm already having fun, so is there a necessity to play ME1?

Definitely worth it to start from ME1. It's sad that you can't pick your choices when starting fresh from ME2, because all the choices that they make for you if you're starting anew in ME2 are lame. Basically you f'ed everything up in ME1, and killed off characters that you would have otherwise probably enjoyed in ME2... But maybe some people prefer those choices.

From the sounds of it, Bioware's internal test version had the interface to allow you to pick your choices, but it was removed for the release version. :/

Probably tester feedback. Those choices may not have made a lot of sense starting anew and I really hate being inundated with questions at the start of a game. I want to get into the action.

Although you're right, the choices they made are lame.

I can certainly see that point. They should have given a full character customization. While I would have taken the easy out my first time through I likely would have taken much more time in character creation/development the second time through. That provides greater replay value which is always a good thing.

they could have included it in a default character option like they do with appearance and background, so if someone feels as you do and doesn't want to customize those things, you don't have to be bothered. there's no reason to completely cut it out (as well as tons of other RPG elements that were probably whined about by the same testers) and annoy people that actually like that kind of stuff, like me.

You will have more fun if you go back to ME1 to see how your story would have unfolded in ME2!
