This game looks pretty awesome. The Xbox 360 demo was enough to make me preorder it. I'm somewhat regretting doing so on the 360 but it's an ideal game for controller input.

I hope so too. With enough content LotRO still has a lot of potential. And I've always thought it would be great to have mounted combat. Maybe it's back on track.

If you want re with survival horror you should check out the one coming out on the 3ds soon. Looks awesome and the demo is sweet. Feels like the old school RE.

After seeing the Kinect integration on XBox I may just pick it up for that instead. Voice commands to the party and for ammo/weapon switching sounds pretty sweet. Combined with forced Origin on PC and my burning desire to finish the series XBox is looking more and more attractive.

Imagine if someone had stepped in during the American revolution to free us. I'm pretty sure that would have just solidified the American people against the intruder moreso than rallied us against the British. Social change has to happen from within when the people want it to happen. It doesn't take a whole lot of people for it to happen, just enough who aren't afraid of things getting messy. The American Revolution had the support of about 3% of the population when it started.

I'm pretty sure we could find more than 3% today who are fed up with the way our government has been behaving. If only we could find the more than 3% who are willing to sacrifice what they have for a better future for the rest.

I'm the opposite, I want all my games in Steam. I don't care if it requires Origin to run. I just want to be able to purchase thru steam.

It will be at least $999. You're missing the point though. A laptop is just a laptop. This would be functional as a laptop, a tablet and a desktop depending on what you needed. That's assuming the controllers are removable.

We don't know how well Ivy Bridge graphics will perform. I'd be okay with the integrated Ivy Bridge graphics when functioning as a tablet/laptop. As long as they could have a dock with a high end graphics card in it to use when in desktop mode this thing would be perfect. Also include ESATA or a built in mechanical drive in the dock.

Short range and approved for commercial use. The commercial aspects of Kinect sound awesome. Plus Windows 8 combined with Kinect could be awesome.

Of course it will support Steam. It's a Core i7 based tablet running Windows 8 which means all existing x86 apps will work. It will also have a gyroscope and accelerometers so it will support motion controls. And it will have bluetooth so keyboard/mouse won't be a problem.

I'd pay $1500-2000 for this if it was fast enough and had a dock so it could double as my desktop. Which is exactly what I'm hoping for from a Windows 8 tablet.

And Razer, take note. Have a GPU in the dock so you can have a better experience when driving a larger device and this thing would be money.

EVE Online perhaps, although I've never personally played it. I'll pick up Star Wars sometime in Jan, I have lots of friends playing it. I figured if they keep it past the first month it will likely be worth playing.

That game made the list of all time worst DLC recently if I remember right. $3600 normal price for all your trains and BS. Absolutely insane.

A sucker is born every minute. I hope there aren't people on Steam that would fall for that though.

I agree. Although I'm not sure how you add more depth to the MMO genre. Assuming you're trying to get people to pay their monthly fee it has to be built with the carrot and stick mentality. They have to provide you with constant "rewards" in order for you to keep clicking the mouse and paying the subscription.

If they can get people to stick around long enough the game itself stops being the reason they stay but rather the people they play with. I know I played WoW at least a full year longer than I wanted to simply because of the friends I had made in game and enjoyed spending time with. It's like shopping with your wife/girlfriend. You may dislike shopping but sometimes it's worth it to spend time with her.

Had I been replying to the OP my post would have been in response to his. My response was to Bwohl, which is where it was in the logical order of things. And he said, and I quote, "Maybe that's my problem; after numerous online games with out a monthly fee - It's hard for me to put down something like BF3 (free) to spend money monthly. My wife calls me cheap - I prefer frugal".

I'm not sure if you think I'm a complete moron who can't respond to the correct post or if you don't understand the outline format most posts use but you're completely wrong.

I'm not really sure what that has to do with the current discussion. Obviously if you don't like the game you wouldn't spend money on it. However the comments were basically saying they thought spending money on a game was a problem. There was no mention of dislike of the game itself. To not play a game you like that has 100s of hours of content simply because of $15/month seems crazy to me.

It's not like someone is expecting you to even pay the base cost of a game you don't like...

It's $15/month... If you get 8 hours/month out of it it's still about the cheapest form of entertainment on a per dollar basis.

Never understood why people act like MMOs are so expensive, or that they don't understand why they should pay monthly for a game that dwarfs something like BF3. And some of those same people will buy a map pack for a game for $15 for 3 extra maps. It makes my head hurt.

Knowing Valve I don't think it's reaching to think LaO3 might very well be a hint at HL2E3. Unfortunately that could mean it's still 2 years away. You never know with those guys. The only thing you can be sure of is it will be excellent.

haha That's a good one. Arkham Asylum had a clever one too, the vents you couldn't actually grapple onto. That was the last game I bothered trying to pirate, I wound up buying it instead. Now I just wait for games to go on sale on Steam.

A Wii is $129 versus a ridiculous amount of money for the Cave. And Skyward Sword's 1-1 controls are absolutely excellent. The sword tracks your hand exactly, including twisting the blade/net/whip. It's a ton of fun.

It's sad many gamers will miss out on this title. The best Zelda game and everything that everyone imagined when the Wii was first announced. It's too bad it took them 5 years to finally realize it though.

Who's waiting on that? It's already out and it's called Skyward Sword, the game that made me totally abandon Skyrim for over a week.

I know, I know. It's on the Wii. But it is an amazing game, probably the best I've played all year. Going back to Skyrim's controls makes it feel so archaic.

I only ever used this once. Money is pretty easy to come by anyway. I have a chest full of stuff I haven't sold because I've run vendors out of money. The only reason I did it was to see if I could. It's a pain to line it up on their head anyway.

And the game isn't that challenging anyway. If you want a hard game you should look elsewhere anyway.

It can't be as bad as the N64 game...

I think an RPG that actually has everyone involved and Trey Parker and Matt Stone writing the story could be pretty awesome. I think that's what we wanted back in the day on the old South Park game. Perhaps what we expected. Instead we got a terrible FPS. I'll likely pick this up, I still love me some South Park and I think the show is better now that it's more satirical as opposed to just irreverent humor.

I thought as much too until I managed to finally chase one down and pop it with an arrow. Usually they'll land after that and attack. This one didn't, it just flew away as fast as it could. It was an elder dragon too, which are almost dangerous.

I was really hoping for some balancing fixes. Oh well, I guess that was too much to hope for. We'll likely have to wait for the CK for modders to fix that themselves.

And it's funny, dragons not attacking seems to happen frequently, not rarely. And I've had the issue with dragon souls not absorbing several times too. I just wonder when I'll get a Bethseda game that doesn't randomly crash to the desktop with no error and for no apparent reason. That one drives me crazy and has been happening since Oblivion, including FO3 and New Vegas. I was thinking the new engine would fix that but nope.

Hit level 41, trying to finish main story before midnight release of Zelda tonight. I've used 3 points in enchanting so I have 4 items with fortify one-handed (gloves, ring, necklace, boots) at 22% each. Decided to go dual wield since I was taking so little damage. Dual 1 handed Daedric swords at 150 damage each. I also enchanted a ring, neck and gloves with improved smithing for upgrade of armor/weapons. 550 armor with Dragonbone plate and no movement penalty. 150 damage on each sword. 17 damage fire and shock on them so I drain mana and do extra damage.

I accidentally killed the elder dragon at the Throat of the World before he could say anything, had to run all the way back up.

I actually think whirlwind sprint is my favorite shout (well, that and Storm if there's a lot of baddies) simply because mages are the only thing that are even slightly dangerous. Being able to close on them instantly takes that out of the equation. Perk focus is:

One-Handed
Heavy Armor
Smithing

A few points in Archery, Restoration, Enchanting and Block (wish I had those back).

Anyone else mess with any of the cheats? I didn't on my first character because I want to play through as much as I can pure but I started another just to screw with them. Pretty awesome. Especially 'coc qasmoke' which will take you to a room with every item in the game. All keys, potions, spells, armor types with every type of enchant possible. It's pretty cool.

That said my first character feels like I'm cheating already most of the time. Dragonbone plate set with sweet enchants combined with a Daedric sword that drains health is pretty nasty. The one handed sword is up to 120 damage. Although I think the dragons are scared of me now, I'm having a heck of a time getting them to come fight me.
