| This actually sounds more like a dare, you can't mouth off to gamers and not expect a hostile response.
Probably the sour grapes of getting their asses handed to them by the market for their draconian DRM.
Regardless... I can't remember the last UBI game I actually liked.

| Please be warned that with the 1.1 patch, Skyrim is linked to Steam, so using mods that alter the .exe will break your game. (fortunately there is a new work around for the +2GB LAA memory patch)
Other than that I agree 100% with the review.
The "dumbing down" of the mechanics actually works well considering how the system worked before. Instead of having to power manage skills and attributes, you really only just have to play as you want and make perk choices. You actually have more freedom and choice for character customization now compared to Morrowind and Oblivion, without being tied to their ridiculous leveling mechanics.
The worst problem I can find (in addition to the power leveling of smithing you brought up) it the worthlessness of Stamina and Mana upgrades.
Put every level upgrade into life, and you will be fine, even if you are a magician.
With enchanting you can reduce mana costs to the point that spell costs are minimal. (some schools can even be reduced to zero)
Melee damage output is so ridiculously high, and kill synchs are so frequent that not being able to power attack really doesn't make a difference for a melee focused character.
Also, with the steed guardian stone, there is no problem with the dungeon crawl looting in full heavy armor.
The biggest problem I have is restarting new characters all the time to try different things out. :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| For my two-handed guy, he forged a legendary Ebony sword, and I decided to skip enchanting it so he can instead use the full level 3 Whirlwind thu'um. Holy mother, he can swing that sword almost twice every second....
I'm going to make my Sorcerer and finish the game now. He'll summon attronach pets, use bound items and defensive spells, because smithing is tantamount to cheating in this game. ;)

Your causality is a bit distorted.
Elemental bombed because Brad was too involved with Impulse, and because they had to beat Civ 5 to market.

I can see how he would take the opportunity to sell it completely off so he can do the things he wants.
